The hot weather recently has caused my skin to crack, creating snake like pattern-patches around my shins and arms. Even my scalp felt itchy and would shed dandruff each time I turn my head a little harder, causing me much embarassment especially around my colleagues. It was so dry and itchy that I couldn't concentrate working in the the office. Every minute or two I would start scratching, hoping that no one would notice. I would be so distracted that I end up going to Google for some natural solutions in desperation.

After much Googling, I finally decided to purchase a bottle of jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and castor oil each to try since most forums seem to suggest those oils are quite useful for dry skin. Then I bought an empty bottle with dropper and transferred 20 parts of jojoba oil to 5 parts of sweet almond oil. To create a more pleasant smell, I then added 10 drops of Lavender oil and 8 drops of Pink Grapefruit oil to the mixture of carrier oils.

Then I used the dropper to slowly apply the oil on my scalp and massage at the same time to make sure the oil is evenly distributed on the root. As for my hair end, I rub a little bit of castor oil in since its very cheap and the cost-savvy me wants to save the more expensive jojoba and almond oil for my skin instead. After that, I use a towel to wrap my hair up like a turban and proceeded to apply other parts of my body with the remaining oil. After that I went to bed and I must say the experience was very relaxing. I dozed off the minute I hopped into bed which I suspect must be the work of the Lavender oil that I used.

The next morning, I have to say I'm very impressed with the result that I saw. Shiny lustrous hair and visibly moisturized skin! As I step out of my bathroom, I can still smell the lingering Lavender scent and it was so soothing I can't help but launch into poem-writing mode. I sent my boyfriend a poem through sms and he immediately called me up, probably wondering what went wrong with me since I never send him anything so early in the morning. Haha..It was worth every penny I spent buying the products and best of all, I didn't have any urge to scratch at all for the whole of today!

The weather is getting impossibly hot lately. Walking to the car takes a lot of strength and courage because every time I leave the shade my skin burns and I sweat non-stop. I usually don't carry an umbrella with me or put on spf lotion so I worry the sun might give me skin cancer when I get older or that I might just simply melt like a vampire.

I wonder where the trees have gone; many years back I can still remember driving was a pleasure because there were huge trees lined along the roads and I don't recall the weather to be anywhere near this scorching hot. I guess man really did mess up a lot with mother nature and now we all have to slowly pay for it (except for dermatologists, they probably are making big bucks). There were yellow patches of grass on every corner of my garden, the flowers wilted, the leaves all dried and crunched up making the whole scene a miserable sight.

No wonder more and more people get sick these days. Maybe humans will go to extinction in the future not because of some gigantic asteroid hitting earth or some super flu strain immune to all medicines that will kill us. Maybe humans will just one day disappear from earth because it gets too hot that the moment we walk out to the sun we might just evaporate from the heat and vanish into thin air. Seriously, come to think of it, when I look at the weather now I think its becoming more of a reality than an overactive imagination.
